Planning Review
Planning reviews are conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
Campus Planning helps guide initial project development and building siting to conform with the campus’ long-term goals, principles and guidelines including natural land management, transportation and utility infrastructure, and campus life and the surrounding community. We manage and oversee long range and area planning studies and are responsible for conformance with the Long Range Development Plan (LRDP), which is the regulatory plan for physical development on the UC Santa Cruz campus, and the Physical Design Framework. We are also responsible for compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which is the basis for environmental law and policy in California, as well as various environmental regulations, including federal and state endangered species, state Forest Practices Act, federal Clean Water Act, etc.
