Facilities Management

Physical Plant
Physical Plant is dedicated to maintaining and improving the campus environment to promote academic, research, and community success. Our teams focus on ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and smooth operation of university facilities, infrastructure, and vehicles. We take pride in managing the university’s fleet to support transportation needs while providing dependable services that contribute to a welcoming, sustainable, and efficient campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Fleet Services
Fleet Services will provide high-quality, efficient, and cost effective services for the over 700 vehicles and ancillary equipment operated at UCSC. We further pledge to offer sustainable transportation that is responsive to the needs of the campus community and supports the mission of the University of California. For over 40 years Fleet Services has kept UCSC moving. We offer daily rentals for staff and student groups, vehicle lease-to-own arrangements, and advice to departments looking to purchase and operate a vehicle at the University.

Energy Management
Energy Management focuses on reducing campus energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions through tracking and analysis. We oversee energy metering systems, handle utility data, and support initiatives for energy efficiency, including renewable energy projects on-site. By leveraging advanced tools and collaborating with both campus and community partners, our goal is to optimize building performance and provide reliable, accessible data that supports the university’s sustainability efforts.
