Resource Recovery Mission
The mission of all waste services on campus is to manage the various types of waste with sanitary and safe methods that divert materials from the landfill. Equally important are campus programs that reduce the amount of material that could become waste. Less waste improves all environmental outcomes, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and saves money.
Services
- Collecting waste from dumpsters, wheeled carts, and outdoor waste stations in public areas
- Provide and service waste containers for events, office clean-outs, and small construction projects.
- Handle these materials: trash that goes to the landfill, recyclable materials, compostable materials, and various bulky items.
- Provide signs and educational materials to guide customers about the right place to put waste items
- Keep track of the amount of each type of waste collected
- Improve waste services to divert more materials from the landfill and reduce the environmental impact of solid waste
