MARINE SCIENCE CAMPUS PROJECTS: COASTAL BIOLOGY BUILDING AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
The Marine Science Campus Projects Environmental Impact Report (“MSC Projects EIR”) analyzed the potential environmental impacts of four interrelated projects at the UC Santa Cruz Coastal Science Campus (formerly known as the Marine Science Campus). The four projects, which are currently under construction, include development of a new laboratory building, greenhouses, and associated infrastructure. The campus is now proposing a change order to the existing construction contract to include additional parking lot development in two locations. The Campus has prepared an addendum to the MSC Projects EIR to evaluate whether these project changes would cause any new significant environmental effects that were not considered in the MSC Projects EIR. The addendum was circulated for public review from June 13 to July 13, 2016. The University approved the design of the Coastal Science Parking Lots on July 15, 2016.

ALTERATIONS FOR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS, PHASE 1 & PHASE 2
The Campus has prepared Addendum #3 to the 2005 LRDP EIR for the Alterations for Academic Programs Phase 1 Project. The proposed Project would partly implement the Building C improvements approved by the UC Santa Cruz Chancellor in February 2007 as part of the 2300 Delaware Avenue Project. The 2300 Delaware Avenue Project was described and analyzed in Volume 3 of the UC Santa Cruz 2005 LRDP EIR. The 2005 LRDP was adopted and the 2005 LRDP EIR was certified by the Regents of the University of California in September, 2006. The Chancellor approved the Project in May 2015. Links to the CEQA documents that have been prepared in conjunction with this approval—the 2005 LRDP EIR, Addendum #3 to the 2005 LRDP EIR, and the CEQA Findings and Draft Notice of Determination for the proposed Alterations for Academic Programs--are provided below.

AMENDMENT TO UC SANTA CRUZ 2005 LONG RANGE DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR STUDENT HOUSING (no longer planned, see Student Housing West)
In April 2017, UC Santa Cruz published a notice of preparation (NOP) for a subsequent environmental impact report (SEIR) that would analyze the potential environmental impacts of an amendment to the UC Santa Cruz 2005 Long Range Development Plan (“2005 LRDP”). The project described in the NOP was the re-designation of 14 acres of land on the main campus west of Porter College from Campus Resource Land (CRL) to Colleges and Student Housing (CSH). The proposed amendment would facilitate the future development of on-campus housing for 3,000 students on a 50-acre site that would include the re-designated 14 acres.
Since the release of the NOP in April 2017, the Campus has advanced the planning for the student housing project and determined that adequate information is now available to evaluate the 3,000-bed student housing project for its specific impacts. UC Santa Cruz therefore is no longer planning to prepare the SEIR as described in the April 2017 NOP, and has issued a revised NOP for a project-level EIR that will evaluate the environmental impacts from the construction of the Student Housing West Project, including the impacts of an LRDP amendment.
